Week 9 Home Communication


Welcome to Week 9!


SKI TRIP - 
WEDNESDAY is NEW day of our annual ski trip! The weather is looking fantastic! Please ensure you read all notices regarding this day VERY CAREFULLY and direct any questions you may have, to either Vikki or myself.
PLEASE NOTE - it is school as usual for anyone who has not signed up for Ski Trip. 

KAIAPOI HIGH SCHOOL INTERVIEWS - Year 8 Students
Each Year 8 family was sent an email, to book an interview time with Kaiapoi High School early next term. Please ensure you have done this as we still have gaps and we need to send it to Kaiapoi High. This will be closed off on WEDNESDAY - if you are not on the list, we will give you a time, and let you know what that is. 

SEXUALITY EDUCATION - 
Our Sexuality lessons have begun, with lots of discussions and introductory activities in both Year 7 and 8. 
Last week our focus was on - 
* Setting the Scene and discussing what Sexuality is. 
* Setting up our group expectations for participation. 

This week we will look at - 
* Our changing bodies and how this effects our feelings and emotions. 

BEN and JJ's CAFE - 
Ben and JJ are again running their Lunch Cafe this THURSDAY for Aspire. 
Order forms were handed out last week, and there is a poster in our space that show's what these delicious treats will look like! Orders were due in on FRIDAY 14th SEPTEMBER.  

TE REO-ATHON RESULTS - 
All of Aspire played a Kahoot as their Te Reo test on Friday. All who sat this, will have come home with an official slip that has their total on it. Sponsorship needs to be in by the end of this week. 

AGRICULTURAL CLUB ENTRIES - 
Today, children who were interested in entering our Agricultural Club this year. On the newsletter it stated that we are heading to the Canterbury A&P Show again this year - we ARE NOT doing this! This was a typo!

CLARKVILLE SCHOOL WORKING BEE - 
This is on Sunday 23rd September, and a list has been generated of things to do around our school. Thank you so much to those parents who have graciously given of their time to help out and get some of the jobs done, so that all of the children can enjoy our school. If this is something you can do and you have not put your name down yet, please let Kathryn in the office know. 

YEAR 8 PIZZA FUNDRAISER - 
This is on again this Friday - Angie Kerry and Kirsten Regos are running this one.
