Week 6 Home Communication
Hi Everyone,
Week 6 and it is starting to feel more like Winter at the moment, which is just as well as our Ski Trip on Wednesday is looking great now that there has been some fresh snow!
ST JOHN FIRST AID -
Our annual workshops with St John are happening on Monday and Tuesday this week, with Aspire having their time on Monday. These are always very well facilitated with students gaining hands on, practical information for assisting others in need, should the time arise!
SAUSAGE SIZZLE -
Don't forget, we have our PTA Friday Sausage sizzle this week.
SKI TRIP -
WEDNESDAY is the day of our annual ski trip! The weather is looking fantastic! Please ensure you read all notices regarding this day VERY CAREFULLY and direct any questions you may have, to either Vikki or myself.
PLEASE NOTE - it is school as usual for anyone who has not signed up for Ski Trip.
TE REO-ATHON -
The Clarkville School PTA latest fundraiser is the 2018 Te Reo-Athon! The PTA works tirelessly to raise funds to help ALL children of this school, and this is a valuable learning experience for our Team in helping to leave a legacy for others. It is our expectation that ALL of Aspire will learn and be tested on these words, with us allowing some class time for this to happen. We encourage some time at home being spent on this, in addition to finding sponsorship!
KAIAPOI HIGH SCHOOL -
Kaiapoi High School have advised that they require enrolments to attend in 2019, by 30th September. They now have a awaiting list for out of zone enrolments, and they will advise these students on 1st October, if they have a place.
CANON OCEANIA GRANTS
Canon Oceania Grants that award groups like us for inspiring change for future generations. It would mean so much to us if you voted for our work in the Education category so we can further our cause!
Clarkville is the FAVOURITE to win $4000.00 worth of products, and $1000.00 CASH!!!!
We need to YOUR VOTES!
Please make sure you VOTE HERE for CLARKVILLE!
You will need to also vote for ENVIRONMENTAL GRANTS and COMMUNITY GRANTS. These ones, take your pick, but the school needs to be CLARKVILLE!
LEADERSHIP -
The Year 8's are full swing into carrying out their Leadership projects, with many workshops and meetings happening throughout the school.
Some Year 7's are regularly completing EMERGING LEADERS pathways, however there are a large number who at this stage will not receive a medal at the end of the year.
Remember, the expectation for Year 7 is FAR advanced of what was expected for Year 6, so we will not sign off multiple low level individual activities, for a student to receive a medal that illustrates LEADERSHIP development.
There is assembly this week, where Whakarewa will share their learning.
Have a great week!
Kristie, Vikki and Lynn.
